Yari Charity, a Toronto based private foundation, launched in December 2005. Aiming to provide means of sustainable support to children of Iran, Yari Charity promotes charitable campaigns that raise funds for the impoverished victims in Iran.

 

Born in Tehran, Sahar Golestani, the founder of Yari, saw a real opportunity for Persians living in the west to provide help and support back home.  Toronto, has many intelligent and successful Persians who yearn for a trusted and impactful method of helping other Iranians.   Yari provides just that, a safe and transparent process for aiming to provide necessary knowledge, confidence and skill set that would enable the children to achieve self sufficiency.
Yari is currently in the process of obtaining the charity status and charity number.  In the meantime your support and patience is much appreciated.

Our Board of Directors

 SaharGolestaniSahar Golestani is a Persian-Canadian born in Tehran. She has graduated from the University of Toronto majoring in Computer Science and Commerce and has worked as a consultant for the past six years. Sahar has always been intereted in volunteering and helping those in need. However, in the past few years, her interests have grown and she begun investigations of launching a charity for the children of Iran with 100% transparency. Sahar originally met with a few charities in Iran a few years ago and has since successfully assembled a talented team together to support Yari and begin multiple campaigns.

  
 
 MaryamOMaryam Omidi was born in Tehran and moved to Canada at the age of 3. She has her Honours BA in Psychology from York University and a Graduate Certificate in Autism and Behavioural Science from Seneca College. Maryam’s passion in life is to help improve the quality of life of individuals with special needs. She has been working as a therapist with children who have Autism and has been an active volunteer with the Special Olympics swim club for over 4 years. Maryam was delighted to hear about and become a board member with Yari Charity through her good friend Sahar. She is looking forward to ameliorating the lives of those in need in Iran.
 
 

 AliBAli R. Baniasadi graduated from the University of Toronto in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) before receiving  a Juris Doctor degree from the University of British Columbia in 2005.  Ali also obtained a Master of Laws degree in Tax from Osgoode Hall in 2009. As part of his practice, Ali advises for-profit businesses and charitable organizations on various tax and business planning issues.  Ali has also assisted various charitable organizations as outside legal counsel advising on various chartiable law issues on a pro bono basis.  He intends to bring his legal and nonprofit expertise to Yari Charity assisting Yari to achieve its objectives.
