Support a campaign with Yari!

Your support and help on any campaign of your choice is greatly appreciated!  Your support and donations WILL help make a difference in the lives of the girls!

Dress the Girls for Winter

Dress the Girls for Summer Campaign has been so successful that Yari has launched a Dress the Girls for Winter Campaign. The goal is to raise $10,00 CDN to purchase 100 jackets, 100 pants, 100 shirts, a few medical supplies and other goods by December 20th, 2009.

All contributions will be in support of providing clothing for the summer needs of 100 disabled orphaned girls. The clothing will be purchased by Yari and provided to Ryhaneh, the only residential center in Iran for physically challenged girls.  Ryhaneh’s mission is to provide a loving environment for the girls who have a verity of physical problems.  The girls’ monthly allowance for all expenses is 15000 toman, which is approximately $15 CDN. This financial compensation coupled with their disability puts a physical strain on their lives.

Dress the Girls for Independence

Self sufficiency is a product of a necessary skill set and a confidence in one’s abilities. The goal of this campaign is to equip the orphanage with 20 computers and DSL connection. Part time teachers will also need to be recruited and training materials will need to be put together. The girls will be taught simple data entry. These skills could be used to complete outsourced jobs and earn money for self sufficiency. To achieve this dream, the Foundation needs to raise approximately $10,000 to $20,000 CDN by January 1st, 2010.

Education for Golnaz

While visiting family in Iran, Sahar had the opportunity to meet met Golnaz, an orphan of Ryhaneh.  This friendly and approachable young lady, overwhelmed with curiosity, requested to speak with Sahar. It was easy to see that although she had a very hard life, her spirit had not been broken.

Golnaz was born with physical disabilities and abandoned at a very young age. Despite her obstacles, Golnaz has managed to obtain her high school diploma and was looking for support to obtain a degree to become self sufficient.  Golnaz has written the following letter to summarize her story.

Yari  has set up a fund to help Golnaz achieve her dream. As the contributions begin, Golnaz will provide a monthly update of how she is fairing in a new learning environment and of her accomplishments
